ITALIAN THANKSGIVING LIVE BLOGGING 2011

Course #3 - The Main Course - 5:30pm

The third course is the least “Italian” of the day — just the usual vegetable sides and of course, the turkey…. but not for me.  I filled up my plate with mashed potatoes, butternut squash, zucchini, cranberry sauce, stuffing (it’s veg!), and roasted beets.

My family’s Italian traditions come back into play post-turkey with a plate of anise passed around the table as a palate cleanser.  If you haven’t had it before, it has a mild licorice taste.

And now I’m going to roll myself onto the couch until dessert….

Welcome to my blog! I’m Michelle, a 26 year old vegetarian, runner, future doctor, and healthy-living enthusiast. My life revolves around food. Cooking food, eating food, discussing the politics of food. We’re surrounded by so many false advertisements and misconceptions about nutrition, its difficult to know where the truth lies. This is my attempt to make everything a bit clearer.

Follow me while I eat delicious food, cook healthy meals, run marathons, and strive to separate the food truths from lies, while living an exciting life in the Big Apple.
