New Apartment, Old Roommate!

I mentioned briefly last week that I was moving out of my apartment… and it’s finally over with.  (Minus the 15 boxes left to unpack.)

Some highlights:

  • I’m now living on the west side of Manhattan for the first time in the 8 years I’ve lived here.
  • I’m no longer living alone!  Living alone was a great experience and I would definitely suggest trying it at some point.  But I’m thrilled to be back with my friend and old roommate, Lauren! Lauren LOVES cooking which is excellent news for this blog.  Also… gentlemen… she’s single.
  • My apartment has STAIRS.  Apparently, if you move far enough away you can get some awesome amenities.
  • Things are pretty great.  I no longer have a 50 minute commute via bus and train to Columbia.

Tonight, Lauren made dinner, so I’ve decided to keep her.  Whole wheat pasta, tomatoes, chickpeas and arugula.  And beer.  New apartment rule: there will always with beer.

Just purchased for my apartment!  You can get one too: Famille Summerbelle
(Apparently I’ll be blogging anything but food today)

Welcome to my blog! I’m Michelle, a 26 year old vegetarian, runner, future doctor, and healthy-living enthusiast. My life revolves around food. Cooking food, eating food, discussing the politics of food. We’re surrounded by so many false advertisements and misconceptions about nutrition, its difficult to know where the truth lies. This is my attempt to make everything a bit clearer.

Follow me while I eat delicious food, cook healthy meals, run marathons, and strive to separate the food truths from lies, while living an exciting life in the Big Apple.
